Fantastic Four project has been quite anticipated among fans ever since it was announced in 2019. Given that reports about Pedro Pascal getting on board for one of the titular roles as Reed Richards/ Mr. Fantastic came to the surface, many started questioning his casting. However, a Marvel theory may have seemingly justified Pascal’s casting, also explaining the absence of Marvel’s first family in MCU’s biggest event- Avengers: Endgame.

A new Reddit theory reports about the possible inclusion of Franklin and Valeria Richards, children of Reed Richards and Sue Storm. If there are talks about their casting, it suggests that the new project would probably be focusing on the older version of Marvel’s first family. This would mean that Pedro Pascal’s casting as Mr. Fantastic would fit in that situation. Despite enjoying a great fandom, Pascal’s casting in the MCU role didn’t sit well with many who believed that the actor was quite too old to portray it. But, given that the theory refers to Richards’ children, having an older Reed Richards would probably be the best bet for the studio. Bringing the First Family’s kids would surely be a great asset for Marvel given that the duo possesses incredible abilities. Richards’ eldest son, Franklin debuted in Marvel Comics’ Fantastic Four Annual #6 in 1968 and can warp reality at will, which is extremely powerful than Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. Meanwhile, his younger sister, Valeria, who appeared in Fantastic Four (Vol. 3) #15 in 1999 has remarkable intelligence from an early age that even surpassed her father. If this theory turns out to be true, it can also explain the absence of the Fantastic Four in Avengers: Endgame, which brought an end and beginning of a phase for the MCU.

As the theory suggests, Richards and Storm’s children can be brought to live-action as young adults. From an early age, the duo possessed incredible superpowers which are on par or had already exceeded their parents. Their eldest, Franklin is well-versed with altering realities and can create pocket dimensions all on his own. In the comic, Onslaught: Marvel Vol 11, when his parents were facing a death crisis battling Onslaught, he created a pocket dimensin and placed them to save their lives. In there, Marvel’s First Family and the Avengers lived reborn lives for some time before eventually making their return home. Having possession of such a great power that can far exceed Wanda Maximoff’s, he can save his parents by putting them in a pocket dimension to escape from Avengers: Endgame events. 

Featuring the team consisting of Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm, the upcoming project is currently in the works for a scheduled release on May 2, 2025. Meanwhile, Avengers: Endgame is available to watch on Disney+.
