There’s been a buzz circulating lately, particularly from insider Daniel Richtman, hinting at Marvel Studios delving into the creation of a Midnight Sons movie. This team, originating from Marvel Comics back in 1992, brings together a slew of supernatural superheroes like Blade, Morbius, and Ghost Rider.
The report also says that Michael Giacchino, the composer who brought a hauntingly beautiful touch to Werewolf by Night on Disney+ in 2022 might be stepping into the director’s chair.
Adding fuel to the excitement, there’s talk of Lilith and Mephisto emerging as the main villains in this supernatural saga within the MCU.
Marvel Studios Developing a Midnight Sons Movie, Per Report
A favorite team in the Marvel universe, The Midnight Sons have long delighted fans with their supernatural adventures. The comics have an interesting history, and their stories are ripe for big-screen exploration, promising to connect with other iconic characters and franchises in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to insider Daniel Richtman (via ComicBook.com), and originally reported last year by the incredibly authentic r/DCUleaks Twitter account, Marvel Studios is rumored to have a Midnight Sons movie in the works.
A possible Midnight Sons movie holds the promise of injecting new dynamism into the interconnected narrative of the MCU. Director Michael Giacchino, acclaimed for his work on projects like “Werewolf by Night,” is reportedly under consideration to helm the anticipated film.
The comic has a terrific lineup including Ghost Riders Danny Ketch, Johnny Blaze, Blade, and Morbius. With so many of these characters already established in the MCU, fans will love being able to see them unite as a team.
Reportedly MCU Will Introduce Mephisto As A Main Villain in the Movie
Mephisto, who first appeared in Silver Surfer #3 (1968), is considered one of the biggest villains in Marvel’s history and is reportedly the primary antagonist in the movie.

He is someone who clashes with several heroes like Doctor Strange, and Wanda and possesses the power to see across time, manipulate the universe, and change minds. He could even beat the Avengers in the comic.
His power surely makes him one of the biggest threats in the Marvel Universe. Also, he rightly knows where to attack to weaken the Marvel heroes as he is aware of the fact that how they would eventually win over him.
Peter Fonda portrayed the character in the 2007 film Ghost Rider, and Ciaran Hinds played him in its 2012 sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
You may think the biggest villains in the Marvel Universe are Thanos or Galactus. But they could not even come close to Mephisto. So, if the rumor of getting him as the main villain in the possible Midnight Sons movie comes true, it will be good to see him there in a project like that.
