Since the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, fans have been keeping their eyes peeled for any Marvel Universe Easter eggs in the game. Since the first title in the franchise, the map of New York has been filled with locations that reference other characters such as Avengers Tower, Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum, the Wakanda Embassy, and the Law Firm Nelson & Murdock Attorneys At Law.

However, the latter was seen again in the sequel, but differently, the building contained an eviction notice. Now, in the game’s latest patch, the place has been updated and the original sign is back, returning the duo to business and getting fans excited for some Daredevil-related content.

Responding to the players’ findings, Bryan Intihar, director of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 commented on Twitter/X in his funny way about the change to the Nelson and Murdock sign:

“Guess they paid their rent”

These would be innocent details if other events like ‘The Hand’ hideout on the game’s map and developers’ comments like “stay tuned” didn’t indicate that the developer might be planning some Daredevil content in this Insomniac universe.

When it comes to this “hideout”, a few days ago players found a secret room hidden in the back of a seemingly harmless bookstore on the Upper West Side, that appears to belong to members of the Hand.

The Hand in Marvel Comics is an evil organization filled with ninjas and occult magic who over the years have faced Daredevil as their main opponent. Regarding the magic, some fans have speculated something linked to Doctor Strange that is also teased by the game, and it would be very interesting, but it doesn’t seem to connect as much to the blind vigilante.

As for what the eviction order being placed and removed means, we still don’t know, but by adding the comments from people on the team telling fans to “stay tuned,” we can hope that something is coming.

The launch of the first game by Insomniac was followed by DLCs involving Black Cat and stories about the city’s mafia, and Silver Sable.

Considering all these factors and that Daredevil may have similar gameplay to Wall Climbers, it is very possible the lawyer by day and hero by night could show up. This could be as a supporting player in a DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, or with his own game that is a very well kept secret. Some might even read between the lines and say that the leak of a Daredevil game for PlayStation 2 was hype bait.

Despite minimal criticism, from the stupidest to the fairest, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 continues to elevate the franchise in Insomniac’s hands and is to be highly praised for how they treat the characters and this beloved universe. Therefore, seeing Daredevil and his supporting characters in this newborn universe would not be a bad idea and fans are very excited about the possibility.

Gameplay adaptations could range from the lightest, such as transforming the webs into stick strings, to the most profound, such as redesigning the entire gameplay for this new hero. But even if it’s a brief appearance as a team-up to defeat the Kingpin once and for all in a DLC, it will satisfy the desire of many to see this universe expanded even more.
