When Do You Face Kraven the Hunter In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Making his first appearance in this universe, Kraven the Hunter is not playing around in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. He’s already hunted a handful of Spider-Man’s rogues gallery and nearly killed Peter in their first encounter. Thanks to Harry’s symbiote, Peter lives another day.
Their next encounter would be at the church. Kraven gained crucial information about Peter’s symbiote. High frequency sounds are the symbiote’s weakness. Kraven continues to hunt Peter and gets in his way of curing Dr. Connors. Destroying the Emily-May Foundation and even following Peter back home.
When Miles gets trapped in Kraven’s base, Peter is on a path of vengeance to not only save Miles but also defeat Kraven. When you start the mission, Anything Can Be Broken, you need to first clear through his Hunters before getting to the Kraven boss fight.
How To Beat Kraven the Hunter In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Kraven will only be using his fists and some gadgets for the first phase. Watch for the color indicators to know when to dodge attacks or get a chance to parry. When it’s a blue attack, that’s a crush attack that needs to be dodged. Parrying or blocking will not work. Red attacks can be parried, press the L1 button before the attack lands to perform the action.
Kraven will throw three red attacks in a row. After the third attack is parried, throw as many punches as possible towards Kraven’s way. After he loses some health, he’ll reveal landmines on the field. Dodge or web swing away to avoid damage. A hammer might be nearby to throw at Kraven. Tap the L1 + R1 buttons together to throw the hammer, leaving him stunned for a moment.
Use Peter’s many symbiote powers with the L1 + square, triangle, circle, or x buttons to deplete Kraven’s health faster. Gadgets work on Kraven too if you want to leave him open to more damage. The focus meter can be used to regain health or use to perform a finisher. However, finishers require at least two bars.
The Symbiote Surge is also available by clicking in the analog sticks (L3 + R3). Unleash the symbiote’s full power during the Kraven boss fight.
As Kraven’s health reaches zero, he will throw a stun bomb at you to temporarily affect your screen. Right after this goes off, start swinging around and press the dodge button because he will throw an axe at you. When he’s finished, we move onto the phase. How to beat Kraven the Hunter? Before the next phase starts, Kraven reveals a bell is nearby to irritate the symbiote. Peter quickly makes his way to the room where the bell is, continuing your fight with Kraven. To stop the bell from ringing, simply spam the R1 button to web the bell in place. Once that happens, you can focus on fighting Kraven. If you let the bell ring, Kraven will have Peter in a choke hold, requiring the player to mash square to get out of it.
This final phase shows Kraven has more tricks up his sleeve that aren’t just the bell. He now has a cloaking device, allowing him to slip past Peter and hide in plain sight. You can slightly see him as the cloaking shadow of Kraven moves around. When he reappears, be ready to dodge or parry his incoming attacks. If the parries are successful, you have a chance to land a few blows on Kraven.
Soon, he throws more stun bombs to affect your vision. Instead of an axe, he now perches on a tree branch with a sniper rifle. Be ready to dodge the attack or web-strike him to pull him off the tree. You can also throw a nearby object to get Kraven off the sniper position.
Continue to use your symbiote powers and dodge/parry attacks accordingly. Landmines will reappear again, so be sure to jump over them. Web up the bell whenever Kraven rings it to get back into the action.
After Kraven loses about one-third of his health, he calls in two robotic dogs to throw you off. Don’t use finishers or the symbiote powers on the dogs. Instead, use the gadgets to slow them down as you focus on damaging Kraven. The robotic dogs can chain attack with Kraven, so be careful to not corner yourself.
Repeat the process of parrying Kraven’s attacks, webbing up the bell, and dodging his robotic dogs to defeat Kraven in this climactic showdown. Kraven will be out for the count quick enough as the boss fight only has two phases, and ‘how to beat Kraven the Hunter’ is now ‘I beat Kraven the Hunter’, congratulations!
Using Accessibility Options For Kraven the Hunter In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
If Kraven’s attacks are too fast for you, turning on the accessibility option, game speed, should make the timing easier. Slowing down the action to get the exact moment you have to parry.
Other accessibility options such as QTE autocomplete and enhanced auto-aim are not that useful here since most of the combat is hand-to-hand. Lowering the difficulty will make Kraven the Hunter an easier opponent if his output damage is too high.
