In a conversation with the Phase Zero podcast, Yuri Lowenthal stated that he is just excited that at his age he gets to play Spidey. He added that he initially wasn’t sure if he could play the young version of the webhead required for the game. He stated that he will play the character forever if PlayStation and the studio allow him to, but even if he doesn’t get to then he is happy with the work he has done voicing the character over the years. Yuri Lowenthal said,

“I’ll do it to my dying breath if they’ll let me because I love it so much. I love working with [Insomniac] so much and I love what they do. And I just got to say, I love playing Spider-Man. It is the best. I’ll do it forever if they ask me to but I also understand if at some point they’re like, You know what, we’re going to have to switch gears. And I’d be like, You know what? I had a good run. Not everyone can say that they do what I get to do. Even if it ended today I’d be like, I did that. But I also hope it goes on forever.”

There are several instances in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 where Lowenthal needs to be his best Peter Parker. For example, when Venom comes into the game. Moreover, many issues from Peter Parker’s personal life will come into play in the sequel as he struggles to contend with the symbiote suit. It will certainly be interesting to see what else Spider-Man 2 has in store for gamers when the game releases next month.
