While it was presumed Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian wouldn’t be getting the big screen treatment until Dave Filoni’s The Mandalorian culmination movie event, thankfully fans won’t have to wait that long. After The Rise of Skywalker mishap, Disney seemingly moved away from big screen screen releases for Star Wars and instead prioritized making material for their streaming service.
However, the wait is finally set to be over, as even before the three Star Wars movies, which were announced in 2023, we will be getting The Mandalorian & Grogu, helmed by Jon Favreau.

The Mandalorian Is Finally Getting the Big-Screen Treatment
Arguably one of the best things to come out from Disney+, The Mandalorian‘s popularity is undeniable, even if the later two seasons weren’t quite up to the bar set by the first one, especially season 3. But following the overwhelming popularity of the character, Disney has moved away from continuing the character’s journey with episodic releases, as Jon Favreau is set to helm The Mandalorian & Grogu. Considering fans have been longing for Star Wars on the big screen, the announcement of the Mandalorian-led movie reasonably has fans excited.

In addition to Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni will serve as the producers for the movie. However, it is still yet to be confirmed if Pedro Pascal will be returning to play Din Djarin, as in the earlier season, he moved away from donning the suit and only voiced the character.

Pedro Pascal’s Busy Schedule Might Hinder His Chance to Headline The Mandalorian & Grogu
Being the industry’s daddy isn’t easy, as the last few years have been pretty strenuous for Pedro Pascal, who has headlined several major projects, which led to his physical absence in Season 3. And with Gladiator 2, Fantastic Four, and The Last of Us Season 2 on the way, it can’t be said for sure if Pascal will be reprising Din Djarin for the upcoming movie, whose production is set to kickstart this year. But while there is no confirmation yet, keeping in mind that Pascal has previously voiced his desire to see The Mandalorian getting the movie treatment, he might make some room for it. He said:
“I love going to the movies. Going back and just being able to be with an audience again is one of the most important things to me. If that happens with The Mandalorian, all I can say is… please!”

Although it’s too soon to say anything, even if Pascal reprises his role in the big-screen adaptation, like the previous season, he might not be able to commit to the role physically following his stuffed schedule.
