It is common knowledge that Damon and George Clooney are extremely good friends. So much so that the former made a speech at the 45th Kennedy Center Honors, honoring the latter’s life and career. It is almost tradition for speeches like this to feature a number of jokes every now and then, that mock the person being honoured. This speech was no different, however, Damon did reveal quite a lot of very interesting information about the Batman actor.

Matt Damon Revealed A Personal Detail About George Clooney’s Life

Matt Damon started this speech at the 45th Kennedy Center Honors by telling the audience a deeply personal and unknown detail about the widely successful, Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker, George Clooney, best known through works like Argo, the Oceans film series, Syriana, and The Descendants.

“A man who stole Bill Clinton stationary and wrote fake notes to actors saying how much the president loves their movies”

Damon revealed to an audience full of A-list actors that Clooney would steal stationery from President Bill Clinton. The actor then revealed that the Batman actor would send letters to actors telling them how much Clinton loved their films.

Matt Damon Mocked George Clooney’s Looks

At the 45th Kennedy Center Honors, Damon then went on to make jokes about the fact that George Clooney had won People magazine’s award for Sexiest Man Alive that year. The actor started off by saying that the team that helped the actor get that position worked very hard to make that possible. What he meant by that was the fact that there were a lot of people who worked on to actor to make him look the way he does.

I think you have movie star looks but let’s be honest, it takes a village to style a star into being People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive. I’ve been there, those experts can transform anyone even this guy there he is [pulls up an image of younger George Clooney]. Yeah Amal, So that’s George Clooney. That is the Sexiest Man Alive and you married him.”

He then went on to elaborate on this, stating that these people are so skilled that they could make anyone look like the sexiest man alive. He then put up a picture of a young, pre-pubescent Clooney. This caused a stir in the audience, making everyone, including the Oscar-winning actor, burst out laughing. Damon then went on to talk to Clooney’s wife, reminding her that this was the man that he had married.
