Matt Damon is one of the leading Hollywood’s men. Ever since his Good Will Hunting worked out at the box office, he never had to look back on his career, as success, fame, and awards followed him. The Martian actor eventually went on to become the face of the Jason Bourne franchise, which showcased him in the iconic role for three films. The franchise was compared with the James Bond franchise for featuring realistic action.

However, being the face of the franchise is a pretty tough job to follow as Matt Damon, who was working alongside George Clooney and Brad Pitt in Ocean’s 12, jeopardized the film for the success of his Bourne franchise. Paul Greengrass, who happened to be the director of The Bourne Supremacy in 2004, hijacked him from the set of Ocean’s 12, as he came up with a better ending for his film.

However, as per The Guardian, Paul Greengrass had come up with a better ending for the 2004 film that would have cost only $200, 000 more and yanked the Air actor from the set of Ocean’s 12, so that the ending could be reshooted.

“Two weeks before its release, [Greengrass] got together with its star, Matt Damon, came up with a new ending and phoned the producers saying the new idea was way better. And it would cost $200,000 and involve pulling Damon from the set of Ocean’s 12 for a re-shoot. Reluctantly the producers agreed – the movie tested 10 points higher with the new ending and made $176m at the box office. Now that’s power.”

“I remember Ben and I having a realization early on. Like, we were watching Brad [Pitt] in a movie, and one of us turned to the other and said, ‘I haven’t heard a thing that guy said in five minutes. I’m just looking at him.’”

While Damon did not state the name of the film, he did share how Pitt did a terrible job in the film as he was neither audible nor understandable at all. However, his beauty compensated for his bad acting, as the audience would lose track of what the actor was saying and get lost in his charm.
