In the candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Arcane actress revealed that she wasn’t disappointed that the Transformers franchise didn’t make a direct sequel to her 2018 Bumblebee, claiming,

“I don’t know that I knew the plans beyond that, but I like to take everything one step at a time. I’ve gotten a lot better at that in my life. I tend to get ahead of myself, and so when it comes to these bigger projects that have whispers and more of a future and whatnot, I like to just focus on what’s in front of me and make that the best that I can.”

Alongside Hailee Steinfeld, the sixth installment in the Transformers franchise Bumblebee has an all-star ensemble cast that includes: John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, Pamela Adlon, Dylan O’Brien, Angela Bassett, and Justin Theroux.

“She was, but not necessarily for Bumblebee’s comeback.”

He continued,

“I like Hailee Steinfeld. She’s a great actress. I have not met her, but the way our movie ends, there are always possibilities. Maybe she’s too busy in the Marvel world, but she’s a wonderful actress, and I would definitely love to collaborate with her.”

Despite her absence from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Hailee Steinfeld may return to the franchise if there is a Bumblebee sequel in the Transformers universe. Currently, she is making waves with her starstruck performances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe project Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
