Released from 2007 to 2019, The Big Bang Theory aired on CBS for 12 seasons and became a massive success for the studio. Young Sheldon, which premiered in 2017, has been greenlit for a seventh season. Now, fans will be looking forward to another major television treat!
Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik Wants To Return To Franchise Spin-Off
Speaking with Variety, Mayim Bialik admits having no knowledge of this announcement. The actress has previously expressed interest in reprising her role as Amy Farrah Fowler, although she seemed shocked at the news:
“I was completely surprised. My kids are like, ‘Mama, do you know anything about this?’ I promise, I don’t.”
In another interview with E! News, the actress explained:
“I got the news like everybody else. We’re all still pretty close, so there was a lot of texting going on. And I asked my agent. He was like, ‘I don’t know.’ I guess no one knows at this point, but I can’t wait to find out.”
She also confessed wanting to return to the franchise, although nothing is certain at the moment:
“I’ll do anything related to anything like that… But yeah, we really have no idea. So, I’m in the same boat as everyone else.”
So far, no plot details have been revealed during Warner Bros Discovery’s presentation, as the project is still in early development. But it is believed to be an hour-long series with mostly new faces and known original stars as guests. It is also unclear if the spin-off will focus on an original character or a new one.
Bialik revealed she has no expectations about the storyline of the upcoming project:
“I mean, honestly, I’ve been thinking about it. My kids are like, ‘Well, Mama, you have to know, and I said I really don’t. I loved all of our characters. And we’ve had so many incredible guest characters. So, I was like, it could be anything. It could literally be anything.”
This surprise announcement is, indeed, enough to hype and excite Big Bang Theory fans craving for more doses of fun.
