The first formal teaser for McDonald’s and Pierrot’s impending partnership has been posted.
An official release date for this anime is also hinted at in the teaser that was made public online. The advertisement features a VS-style confrontation between two unidentified characters with a decidedly shonen atmosphere, even though the specifics of the event are still unknown.
McDonald’s has collaborated on numerous anime projects, however, they were primarily tailored for the Japanese market. On the other hand, given that this trailer was shared on their main account, it could potentially refer to a global outreach strategy. McDonald’s collaboration with Studio Pierrot will be a new twist in the world of anime as it will offer global brands a chance to explore a demographic of audiences that are specific to the anime industry.

It’s unclear at this point if this is an extended commercial or a real anime episode. Whatever the nature of the real collaboration will be, it is evident that a great deal of effort has already been put into the project. Additionally, the video hints at the creation of a “new world,” raising the prospect of more animation productions starring these characters.
Brand partnerships are expected to change as a result of this convergence of the largest fast-food chain and one of the fastest-growing media industries in the world. Officially everything will be revealed on 26 February as anime and McDonald’s fans eagerly wait for the project to be released.
What Could the McDonald’s Anime Be About?
In the teaser that was shared on the official McDonald’s Twitter page, viewers are treated to a sort of isekai animation that immerses viewers in the expansive McDonald’s world complete with fries, burgers, and chicken nuggets. Additionally, it shows a fight between two unidentified individuals over French fries in a style reminiscent of anime.
Although this film seems to be a preview for a future McDonald’s commercial, there isn’t much evidence to back up that theory. In addition to multiple unique and dynamic shots that appear to not repeat frames, the video uploaded to McDonald’s social media accounts has four unique character designs.
The Japanese branch of the well-known fast food giant, McDonald’s, regularly uses the popular medium to sell its products, therefore it is no stranger to the world of anime. It has also been featured quite a lot of times in various other anime series though not by its traditional name.
