After starring as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the 2021 series WandaVision, the 34-year-old actress reprised her role in Doctor Strange 2, followed by her sacrifice to destroy the Darkhold. She was presumed dead after being buried under Mount Wundagore, per The Direct. However, Michael Waldron, scribe for Doctor Strange 2 revealed in an interview with Variety that her death was open to interpretation.

Along the same lines, WandaVision star Asif Ali who also reprises his character in Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, was asked about Wanda Maximoff’s return to MCU on Instagram. The query asked, “Will Wanda be in Agatha’s show, bro? Please..,”

Ali responded to the question with a brief enthusiastic comment, that seemingly turned out to be a blunder. He wrote, “Yes!”

This confirmed Olsen’s return as Scarlet Witch and fans were enthralled. However, moments later, the comment was deleted indicating two things: Olsen’s return was meant to be a secret or he misinformed the fans. However, hopes are high for Maximoff’s return in the 2024 series, which would be her second MCU appearance after What if…? in the same running year.

“There is no plan, and I’m serious. I’m not a good liar, I wish I had a plan. And I’m not sure. I’m really excited for fans to see this film because it is something very different from what they’ve seen, and I’m really curious to hear what they want after, because I think it is a very surprising film.”

Furthermore, Elizabeth Olsen also confirmed that she would not be returning but expressed her admiration for Kathryn Hahn, who would be starring in the Disney Plus miniseries. Olsen is open to work on anything that involved Hahn, she claimed.

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is scheduled to release around Fall 2024, featuring Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, and Asif Ali as Abhilash Tandon/Norm. Will fans see the powerhouse Scarlet Witch return? We will have to wait and watch.
