Though Josh Segarra is renowned for stealing the spotlight through his outstandingly serious portrayals, especially famous for playing the loving character of Augustus “Pug” Pugliese in Marvel’s She-Hulk, and the villain-ish role of Adrian Chase aka Prometheus in DC’s Arrow, he is a rather goofy and friendly person in real life who wears his heart on his sleeve.

And despite appearing in horror movies like his most recent Scream 6, he prefers to have an entertaining opinion about his films. The same went with his opinion for the next sequel from the horror/thriller Scream movie series, for which he has included a Scream ‘musical’ to his bucket list all the while adding how he wishes Ghostface showed off some serious ‘operatic talents’ in the next sequel.

Josh Segarra played the role of Danny Brackett in his most recent horror/thriller Scream 6, who is Sam’s secret boyfriend and one of the many suspects of Ghostface in the film. And since he had already hinted at a possible return to the franchise for Scream 7 after his outstanding work in the recent installment, Inverse took the opportunity to ask him for his opinion on how the next sequel should be created.

Sharing his slightly unorthodox pitch for the next Scream sequel if his character survives long enough for it, Segarra said:

“If they could find the way in for a Scream musical, make the audience laugh and also be a little scared? Let’s go! Who knows? Maybe Ghostface has some operatic talents that we don’t know about.”

While his opinion is more or less comical, perhaps the filmmakers might even consider it to give the film a light tone throughout the dark theme… Who knows?!

During the same interview with Inverse, Josh Segarra shared how he tackles his on-screen characters his way, be it heroic or villainish. He said:

“Along this journey, certain characters have come along my way, and I’ve been given an opportunity to play these guys that, when you see them on the page, they may read one way. And I always like to play these characters where I want to figure out what their heart is. Who are they on the inside? What makes them tick?”

Adding to this is the spectacular way in which the Marvel star infuses his roles with his natural bighearted sweetness.

“Pug loves Jen hard; he’s ride-or-die. Danny in Scream 6, you’ll see his heart. I love that. Maybe that is a part of me,” Segarra said. “Even with Adrian Chase, sure, he’s the quote-unquote ‘villain.’ But I wasn’t playing him like a villain. I was just playing him like he was in love with Oliver. He was obsessed with Oliver. He thought that Oliver was the best. And for that reason, I’m going to destroy you.”

But regardless of whatever role he decides to play on the big screens, Josh Segarra still has won millions of hearts of fans worldwide with his incredible on-screen performances and his adorable off-screen personality.
