D’Onofrio also assured fans that such changes in creative directions were a regular part of the business and that he was in support of such changes. He also mentioned that Loki and Moonknight were his favorite Marvel shows, as directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moonhead came on board the show as directors. He said,

“I have to say, it’s luck, really. I mean, my favorite series so far have been Moon Knight and Loki, and we’ve got those guys as directors, and so that’s pretty lucky. And we’ve got Dario [Scardapane], who’s an incredible writer who wrote The Punisher. We’re in a very happy place right now.”

The shows are two of Marvel’s highest-rated series on Disney Plus. The second season of Loki aired recently and was regarded as a strong comeback for the franchise after a series of duds such as The Marvels and Secret Invasion.

The Creative Overhaul Of Daredevil: Born Again

Charlie Cox’s iteration of Daredevil seemed to be perpetually in a state of trouble. First, the beloved Netflix series Daredevil was prematurely canceled by Marvel, despite its third and final season receiving positive reviews. No concrete explanation was given as to why it was canceled and Cox’s tenure as Daredevil ended temporarily.

However, all was not lost as Marvel President Kevin Feige announced that a new Daredevil show would be produced for Disney Plus and the studio gave a sixteen-episode first season order for Daredevil: Born Again. Chris Ord and Matt Corman were hired as head writers and showrunners for the series which was set to debut in 2024.

However, Kevin Feige was reportedly not happy with the direction in which the show was heading in and decided to do a creative overhaul and let go of Ord and Corman. Vincent D’Onofrio assured that such changes were natural and that the series was in a good place at the moment. He said,

“I think all the powers out there that control this whole creative world of the MCU, also believe that we’re in the right place right now… We’re having a really good time right now. We’re getting back up. We’re gonna start soon, hopefully, sooner than later, and Charlie and I feel like the right vibe is there.”

While the Full Metal Jacket star is confident about the series, the fans still seem to be skeptical as the studio has been churning out more duds than winners in the past few years.
