Jonathan Majors will be serving up to one year of imprisonment after he was convicted of assault on Monday at the New York City courthouse. The actor was previously accused of physically harming his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari after they burst into a conflict that took place inside a hired car.
Majors’ new girlfriend, Meagan Good, was with him the whole trial and was seen holding hands with the actor outside the courthouse. She has been very supportive of her partner since they started dating back in May.
Meagan Good’s Ex-Husband Opens Up About Divorce
Meagan Good was previously married for nine years to DeVon Franklin. The author and motivational speaker talked about his separation from the model and admitted he cried himself to sleep at night.
The ex-couple wedded in June 2012 and broke up in December 2021. It was a mutual decision, and there was no one to blame, as they wrote in a statement shared with People:
“After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected. We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love.”
Franklin confessed that he was in the process of healing from the divorce wherein he allowed himself to feel it rather than ignore. He reflected that the pain he felt would serve as his teacher, and he would have to sit through the whole process to get to know himself better.
He also noted how most people would just push the emotion aside, but for Franklin, it even makes him want to get better to feel fantastic again. Lastly, the author also noted that our feelings are always telling something, revealing the truth that resides within.
Meanwhile, Good admitted via Essence that the separation affected her tremendously, and she regretted the things that happened which left her feeling even more baffled.
“It’s nothing that I would have ever chosen, and when I realized that it was happening, I was devastated. I was like, ‘This is me, Lord. I did everything that I could do to the best of my ability. I don’t understand why I did all these things, and then this is my end result.’”
After her divorce, she found love in Jonathan Majors, who was romantically linked to her since May amid his abuse allegations.
Jonathan Majors Has Been Convicted Of Assault
It seems like there’s no happy ending for Meagan Good because, after her unfortunate divorce from DeVon Franklin, the actress will have to face the coming days alone again following Jonathan Majors’ conviction early this Monday.
The actor has been found guilty of assault and will be facing up to one year of jail time. Majors’ lawyer Priya Chaudhry expressed disappointment at the jury’s verdict, noting that they found “Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him.”
The Creed star will be sentenced on February 6, though he remains hopeful that his name will be cleared in due process. Good has been on Majors’ side all throughout his trial.
