The media seems to be at their heels with each new revelation the Royal office or an insider makes.
Tension among the members of the Royal family has been there for a long time. Prince Harry’s dating and subsequent marriage to actress Meghan Markle made things more complicated. Markle’s relationship with her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, has often attracted attention to their dynamic. A recent revelation seems to be adding fuel to the fire.
Royal Expert on Kate Middleton’s Relationship with Prince Harry
Catherine Middleton, better known as Kate Middleton, and Prince William dated for almost 10 years before they made their first public appearance in 2010 after their engagement. They got married the following year and had three kids, George, Charlotte, and Louis.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle began dating in mid-2016 and married in 2018. Although their marriage generally elicited positive reactions due to the inclusion of a mixed-race person in the royal family, things started turning sour between the family members soon after.
A royal expert, Ingrid Seward, who has penned 17 books about the monarchy, has claimed that Markle has interfered in Middleton’s bond with Prince Harry. According to The Express, she said:
“Every time he had a new girlfriend, the first person that would meet her would be Kate. And then Meghan came into the mix, and it was disruptive. It wasn’t like the other girlfriends.”
According to Seward, the Princess of Wales and Prince Harry had once been very close, but things changed between them once the Prince married Markle.

Prince Harry and his wife stepped back from their duties as senior Royals, as revealed in their statement in 2021 (via CNN). Since then, the couple has divulged some rather private family information in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, their Netflix docu-series Harry & Meghan, and the Prince’s memoir, Spare.
In an interview with the Telegraph, Ingrid Seward claimed that Markle must have been “jealous” of Middleton:
“I think that Meghan must have been incredibly envious and then jealous of Kate. I heard Meghan actually thought she was going to be a princess and live in Windsor Castle. Instead, there’s William and Kate with this beautiful house, while they are stuck in Nottingham Cottage which Harry used to call ‘my hovel’.”
Seward also said that the Duke of Sussex once told his mother, Princess Diana, that he wanted a sister. He reportedly found this sister in the Princess of Wales, but his wife stepping into the picture allegedly ruined things between him and his sister-in-law.
