Once one of the most promising actors in Hollywood whose career skyrocketed after the success of Loki and Creed III, Jonathan Majors’ career has come falling down at a staggering rate. With the Manhattan Jury finding him guilty of reckless assault in the 3rd degree and guilty of harassment, Disney was quick to cut ties with the actor, who was initially presented as MCU’s next big baddie.
Unsurprisingly, the verdict has roused a debate on the internet, with netizens engaging in a round of Whataboutism regarding Majors’ case, as they weighed their viewpoints on the matter.
Fans From Both Sides of the Aisle Wrangle Over Jonathan Majors’ Conviction
While the evidence presented in the Court of Law was enough for the Jury to deem Jonathan Majors guilty, the verdict has caused quite a stir online. Considering other controversial stars, including Ezra Miller and Amber Heard, didn’t lose their gig, with Heard set to reprise her part in the upcoming sequel to Aquaman, some are crying foul over Majors’ conviction. But not everyone is speaking out against the matter, as many applauded Disney for being quick to fire Majors after he was found guilty, as they did stick with the actor until the conviction.
The way men get fired minutes after they lose a lawsuit but a woman like Amber Heard kept her job because she is white and had a billionaire to protect her is insane. https://t.co/eppa95LixL

Heard had already finished filming by the time the US case ended and it was defamation. Very different circumstances.

It's vital to uphold safe and respectful environments.
Looking forward to seeing how Marvel navigates this change.

Wow, that's disappointing news. Marvel Studios made the right decision to prioritize their values and maintain a respectful working environment.

Although the debate isn’t going to slow down anytime soon, with people from both sides of the aisle wrangling on the internet, things are also looking quite hazy for the MCU.

The Two Possible Alternatives for the MCU Following Jonathan Majors’ Firing
Considering how deep the MCU is into the Multiversal chapter, with Jonathan Majors out as Kang, who was set to be the next big baddie for the mega-franchise, the cinematic giant is back to square one. From here, it appears Marvel has only two viable alternatives to get their Multiversal saga on track, with them being either recast Kang or just scrap the storyline in favor of a new foe. While fans have suggested the inclusion of Dr. Doom, who was also the overarching villain of the Secret Wars comics, it’s hard to say whether introducing him this late into the game would work for them or not.
While recasting also seems a feasible alternative, keeping in mind how publically Majors was fired from the role, it can’t be said for sure if other prominent actors would be open to taking the gig.
But considering the MCU already dropped Jeff Loveness as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty‘s writer, which is now being referred to as Avengers 5, the MCU might’ve already taken precautions for this scenario.
