The release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will officially confirm the end of the DC Extended Universe. While most are excited for Aquaman 2 due to Jason Momoa’s titular character, there are some who will head to theaters for Amber Heard’s Mera as well.
Heard played the red-headed superheroine in the 2018 flick Aquaman. Although Heard’s depiction of the character was on point, her off-screen battle with Johnny Depp turned many fans around the globe against her.

As evident from the tweets, fans are still divided about Amber Heard’s presence in the movie. While some are happy that she is there for a substantial role, others are not so much.
Considering Heard has rarely been present at the promotional events for the movie and has a pretty minor role in the official trailer, it will certainly be a surprise for fans to see her in a major role in Aquaman 2.

There are many things that could possibly destroy Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom‘s success at the box office. For starters, it will be the last film in the DCEU and the hype of James Gunn’s soft reboot of the DC Universe has certainly overlapped the film’s original anticipation.
Of course, there is also the possibility that Amber Heard’s presence in the movie could hinder its chances of being successful at the box office. After all, Heard was involved in a hefty battle in court with her ex-husband Johnny Depp.
Due to the controversy,, Heard’s role was reportedly cut from the film, but as things stand right now, everything points toward her character Mera playing a significant role in the events of the final movie of the DCEU.
