Several more exciting games are among the January lineup to start the new year, two of which are already out now. However, as new games are added, others will be removed. Five titles will be leaving the service this month, most notably Grand Theft Auto 5 and two Persona games.

Confirmed January Games:

  • Close to the Sun (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 3
  • Hell Let Loose (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X/S) – January 4
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 9
  • Figment (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 9
  • Super Mega Baseball 4 (Cloud, Console, and PC) EA Play – January 11
  • We Happy Few (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 11
  • Resident Evil 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 16
  • Those Who Remain (Cloud, Console, and PC) – January 16

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2 are this month’s highlights. Ubisoft’s sprawling open-world RPG in its long-running series will be added to the service on January 9 and let you become a powerful Viking warrior as you explore England’s Dark Ages.

Resident Evil 2 will make its way onto the service on January 16. The beloved entry in the long-running horror series received a makeover in 2019 with modern gameplay mechanics and upgraded visuals, allowing players to re-experience the horrors of Raccoon City with a fresh layer of paint.

Hell Let Loose by Team17, the 2021 tactical multiplayer FPS that our reviewer referred to as “the best FPS that you haven’t played,” is another great addition to the service. Now that it’s on Game Pass, more people can jump into this hardcore online shooter that places teams into high-stakes 100-player WWII battles.

Another underrated gem in the lineup is Those Who Remain by Camel 101. In this 2020 psychological horror game, you have to uncover the secrets of a town that has been warped by darkness. Listing it as one of the 10 most underrated horror games, our reviewer highlighted the game’s atmosphere and sense of unease, which should appeal to fans of the genre.

Two more spooky titles will add to this month’s eerie vibes, with the first-person horror adventure Close to the Sun available now and the narrative-driven survival adventure We Happy Few joining the service on January 11.

The Indie action-adventure Figment and the sports title Super Mega Baseball 4, arriving on January 9 and 11, respectively, are rounding off the first half of January with more light-hearted experiences.
