Although PS users face disappointment, the future is not that bleak. Microsoft is committed to bringing its games to a wider audience through Project Latitude. Behind this project stands a desire to break down console exclusivity walls for some first-party titles.

With that said several such games have already reached PS, including Grounded, a survival game that can be played both in first person or in third-person, then Sea of Thieves, an action-adventure game in which a player takes on a role of a pirate and play with others or solo in a shared world.

Moreover, the critically acclaimed rhythm-based action game Hi-Fi Rush recently landed on PS5 to positive reviews. All of this proves that the future is not that bleak for Sony fans. However, it is important to note that the franchise is currently not a part of Project Latitude.

While this is still bad news, there is still a chance, however slight, that future and past installments could be included in this multi-platform initiative.  Whether something changes in Microsoft plans is yet to be seen, but for now, Gears of War remains an exclusive.
