One of the most anticipated fights that fans have been wanting to see for a long time is Zoro vs Mihawk’s rematch. As the first fight resulted in a devastating defeat for Roronoa Zoro, since then, the Pirate Hunter has trained hard and managed to become one of the strongest swordsmen in One Piece.

He has reached one step closer to his dream of becoming the Strongest swordsman in the entire One Piece world, but still, the biggest hurdle of his journey is yet to come and he needs to be prepared for it. Fans have been developing a lot of theories as to how the Battle between the Marine Hunter and the Pirate Hunter will end.

However, as fans wait for the second battle between Zoro and Mihawk, one Japanese company has already portrayed the iconic battle in their advertisement. This advertisement featured the anticipated battle, and it also showed how Zoro trained after being defeated by Mihawk. The advertisement was a result of a collaboration between One Piece and a Japanese food company called Nissin.

The food business Nissin and One Piece worked together to make a sequence of animated commercials that ran from May 2019 until February 2020. The advertising campaign was called Hungry Days, and it promoted the instant noodle brand Nissin. With the tagline “One Piece: Youth,” four commercials portraying One Piece characters in a contemporary Japanese high school were released.

The first Hungry Days commercial featured the iconic Zoro vs Mihawk fight. After losing to Dracule Mihawk in a kendo match, 17-year-old Roronoa Zoro receives advice from Mihawk to strengthen himself. Zoro dedicates his entire day to honing his swordsmanship abilities to keep his commitment to Kuina.

Season by season, he trains, and one day, while exercising on the school roof, he passes out from exhaustion and declares, raising his bamboo sword like he did in the Baratie Arc, that he is never going to lose again. Then, Zoro hears Luffy laughing and spots him holding a cup of Smoky & Spicy Sio instant noodles while sitting above the roof exit.

Fan Theories on Zoro vs Mihawk’s Rematch

Over the years, many fan theories have been developed for the final battle between Roronoa Zoro and Dracule Mihawk. Fans have been waiting for the fight to happen for a long time, and as they wait, they have been developing notions about Zoro can beat Mihawk after training under him for two years.

The biggest problem with the fight is that it does not fit perfectly right now in the upcoming events/arcs of the storyline. As Mihawk has joined Cross Guild with Buggy and Crocodile, their inclusion in the story is bound to happen, but it can’t be seen happening soon. Therefore, the theory focuses on Zoro vs Mihawk being the final battle of the series.

There is another theory that states that Zoro might sacrifice himself in the upcoming story to save Luffy. This would lead to Mihawk acknowledging that Zoro is the strongest swordsman as he had the courage to sacrifice his dream to save his friend, but this doesn’t seem probable as Eiichiro Oda hates killing characters in One Piece.
