Commenting on the deal, Apple’s Head of International Development Morgan Wandell said,

“Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ has left an indelible imprint on the hearts, minds and imaginations of audiences around the world, led by the brilliance of Chris, Matt, Kurt, Wyatt and the incredibly gifted talented cast and creative team. Chris Black and Matt Fraction helm the show. It also stars an impressive cast that includes Shogun’s Anna Sawai, Hollywood icon Kurt Russell, and his actor son Wyatt Russell, Mari Yamamoto, Ren Watabe, and more. Surprisingly the Breakdown star, and his son, who recently starred in the Stephen King acclaimed horror film Night Swim, play the same role in the Apple TV show. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters follows a family’s journey to uncover their secret connection to a monster-tracking organization – Monarch.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has secured the future of MonsterVerse in many ways. The film’s director is also considering making a trilogy thanks to the 2024 film’s monumental box office success. The film’s sensational reception by fans also urged many to hail MonsterVerse as an MCU-killer.
