In most cases, lifting reviews late and close to the actual release date of the film is a clear sign that the studio does not believe in the film. This is done to shun audiences from the negative reception from critics who have seen the film earlier. One fan has seen the film and his statement is sure to shock fans.

The upcoming Madame Web film is releasing tomorrow with no hype and fanfare around it. The review embargo is set to be lifted today, a day before its release which is a rare thing for a comic book film. It mostly signals that the film is a bad one and now this might actually be true. A Marvel fan named Matt Ramos has seen the film and has now revealed something about its quality that will shock fans.

Ramos took to X and wrote a one-line review of the film saying “Morbius was better”. Morbius starring Jared Leto is considered one of the worst Marvel films to date. Marvel fans do not like to be reminded of that film and have abandoned the film completely. However, if what Ramos says is true, fans are in for a bigger disappointment than Morbius.

The film is also not tracking well at the box office and if it is hit with bad reviews, it will further affect its box office performance days after its release. Things are not looking good for the Sony-Marvel film and it remains to be seen what critics think of the film how it does in its extended opening weekend.

The upcoming Madame Web film features a younger version of the character who is a paramedic gaining psychic abilities after an accident. The actress also got to wear her superhero costume in the film which really excited her. She told Screenrant that putting on her Madame Webb outfit was such a cool experience for her. She also praised her castmates Sydney Sweeney, Isabella Merced, and Celeste O’Connor and their dynamic on set. She said,

“It was so cool. It was extremely exciting and felt really cool. Putting on a real superhero costume, not just one from Amazon, is a pretty amazing experience. Yeah, it was really fun to have them around. It was. Because the three of them are pretty much in most of the scenes together. It was just fun to have their dynamic and their comradery on set.”

The Sony-Marvel film is set to be released in theatres on February 14, 2024. Johnson recently came on board Past Lives director Celine Song’s second film, a rom-com titled Materialists (via Variety). She will star in the film starring alongside Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans.
