What We Know

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 news
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 takes place almost a year after the events in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. We know that Peter has moved into Aunt May’s house located in Queens. Norman Osborn has been using the Symbiote to try and cure his son Harry of his genetic disorder. We know that Curt Connors aka The Lizard is helping Osborn, and will also be a part of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s story.

Peter will eventually obtain the Symbiote and will don his classic black suit, causing him to change in mood and temperament. We know that Kraven the Hunter will be a big part of the plot in the new game. Venom will also appear, though the identity of the host is yet to be revealed. Miles has new and upgraded Venom powers, and his Camouflage ability seemingly has also been improved.

What is Possible

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 news

While it’s more than likely that Insomniac will reveal new gameplay footage or even an official story trailer, there’s so much that can also be shown. We could explore more of the expanded map which consists of Matthaean, Queens, and Brooklyn. Coney Island is also a place that can be explored in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2; maybe we’ll see yet another new location. We may get a tease at some of the new villains in the game. In the reveal trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we get a glimpse at Black Cat, Prowler, Wraith, Tombstone, The Lizard, Taskmaster, and Shocker. Maybe we see these villains or even one we haven’t seen yet.

One of the biggest things many fans want to see is the identity of Venom. Fans have been scratching their heads at the identity of the iconic villain since Insomniac confirmed that Eddie Brock will not be Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. One theory of what may be shown isn’t necessarily related to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but is something in the works at Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Wolverine.

We haven’t seen or heard anything since its reveal back in September of 2021. While it may not be the same game, fans are eager to see Insomniac’s portrayal of the iconic mutant. Another big reason this is wanted to be shown off is at the hope that both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Wolverine are set in the same universe.
