Naruto started as a manga series in September 1999. The animated series premiered in October 2002 and skyrocketed the franchise’s popularity. Kishimoto’s work is about a ninja named Naruto Uzumaki and his dream to become a Hokage while surrounded by iconic enemies such as Madara Uchiha and Kaguya Otsutsuki.

Naruto Is The Most Searched Anime According To Google

Google’s new game, Search Playground, has revealed interesting details about places, moments, and anime. Players need to search for specific items in a large crowd following which they get official information about them from Google.

The hint for finding Naruto was that “the most searched anime is making a splash” alongside a picture of the spiky-haired ninja. According to the description by Google Search Playground, Naruto has been the most searched anime in the last 25 years. The data mentioned by Google spans from January 1, 2004, to September 27, 2023, while the data sometimes extends to November 10.

Anime fans are most likely to be familiar with Naruto. A part of the Big 3 of the shonen industry alongside One Piece and Bleach, the franchise spans 720 episodes and consists of 11 movies. The anime is divided into two parts –  Naruto and Naruto Shippuden – the latter of which mostly focuses on Naruto’s development as a ninja.

Previously believed to have been canceled, the Naruto Live-Action film once again made the headlines when a report by Variety confirmed Tasha Huo to be the scriptwriter for the movie. Huo is currently working on Red Sonja after giving emphatic contributions to The Witcher series on Netflix.

The Naruto Live Action movie is being developed by Lionsgate. It was initially announced in 2020 but had to be delayed due to the pandemic. Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno were going to be the main lead roles.

The most searched anime is aiming to make a splash in the live-action. However, fans are concerned if the movie will be faithful to the source or if it can wrap up the long story about Naruto Uzumaki with just one film. Luckily, the interest is at a high for anime live-action works after the success of One Piece.
