However, Lynskey may not have been able to say yes to a lot of the roles she did if it wasn’t for her husband, Jason Ritter. So, how is the Raising Dion actor responsible for his wife getting to bring some of the most incredible characters to life? Well, Lynskey has opened up about just that.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Lynskey revealed that as a family, the two of them have to make tough decisions all the time. This includes giving up on roles for the other person just so they can support their family a little better. She stated that Ritter gets offered a ton of roles but he gives up on them many times just because what was offered to Lynskey was either more exciting or paid better.

Calling him the most supportive person ever, the actress stated,

“He’s the most supportive person in the world. The last few years we’ve had this role of like, whoever’s job makes the most sense, whether it’s the most exciting career wise or it’s more money, we would prioritize the one that was going to help move the person’s career forward.”

She went on to add that Ritter has been “getting offered stuff all the time” but he chooses to deny them for his family’s betterment, even if it means paying the price with his career. Lynskey added that this move on Ritter’s part is “like genuinely sacrificing,” and she couldn’t be more accurate. However, we are sure that Ritter would do it all over again for his wife and daughter in a heartbeat!

While there is no denying that they are one of the most adorable couples in the film industry, even they had a tough time getting into their relationship. Why? Well, for starters, Ritter did not think he was worthy of dating Lynskey. Speaking on The Drew Barrymore Show, Ritter recalled how he thought Lynskey would make a perfect partner for someone who deserved her and that “someone” was not Ritter, in his own opinion.

“I knew how incredible Melanie was early on. It’s not as cute as the story as you would like to think—it was messy and interesting and weird. But mixed in the mix was dealing with some alcoholism issues. So there was a lot at us. At a point, I knew how amazing she was and I thought she would be incredible for someone who deserved her, basically, and I didn’t feel like I was that person. I felt a little bit too crazy,” he said. “So it was only after like, maybe a year into not drinking where I started to go, oh, maybe I can promise some things to someone else. Maybe I can be this person.”

Thus, his desire to be someone who deserved a woman like Lynskey helped him become a better person. He added, “I knew that she was incredible. It was working on myself enough to feel like maybe, maybe I could be the one for her too.”
