Moreover, Vellani will certainly reprise her role in Marvel’s upcoming films, Avengers: Secret Wars and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, reports now claim that the chances of Ms. Marvel getting an S2 are low. Since there has been no official confirmation whether or not there will be a Season 2, the discussion is ongoing.

Iman Vellani starred as the titular lead Ms. Marvel in her solo show, released in 2022. Her impressive performance in the Marvel series landed her a role in Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels. A big milestone in the 21-year-old Canadian actress’s career, the film recently hit theatres this month. While much was expected, The Marvels box-office collection hit an all-time low for MCU.

As per Collider, the film made a record for Marvel’s lowest-grossing film ever. Hence, not an ideal Hollywood debut for Vellani. Fans were concerned about Ms. Marvel not getting a second season, limiting the spotlight on Vellani’s flair. However, prior to The Marvels release, Ms. Marvel director Adil El Arbi revealed that everyone is hopeful of a S2. He told The Discourse podcast

“We’re waiting for The Marvels, so that will decide what the next step will be. So we’re very much looking forward to that. I can’t wait to see it, man. It’s great to see the trailers and to see the whole family back there and Iman Vellani doing great work, so looking forward to that.”

Nevertheless, since the movie didn’t do well, it jeopardizes the fate of Ms. Marvel S2. On the same note, a recently shared social media update hints that the show’s next season is really at stake.

A Twitter update by The Hollywood Handle announced hours ago that Season 2 of the Vellani-starrer show is in the making, sourced from scooper, Daniel Richtman. Consequently, the latter swiftly responded to the post clarifying the misinterpretation. Daniel Richtman wrote,

“No that’s not what I said. I said they are discussing it. Not that it’s ‘In the works’. Big difference”

This has given rise to several speculations on the future of Ms. Marvel in her solo-led show. However, it is worth noting that Vellani is certain to reprise her character in the upcoming big-budget Marvel films. Moreover, she was also reportedly in talks of leading the pack of Young Avengers.

Fans support for Vellani is heartwarming. But, it’s the Marvel bosses who decided whether she will get a solo reprise. At this point, the MCU can’t really confirm anything. Guess we will just have to wait and watch!
