Disney is known by the entire world as the premier destination for wholesome, family fun, the likes of which almost nobody else could offer, especially in regards to the memorable films that they produce. Among their catalog of animated originals, The Lion King remains one of, if not their most successful venture, which is why expanding upon it seems like the natural choice.
Thus, Disney has doubled down on their effort to revive The Lion King series, first with the modern animated remake of the original story, and now, with the prequel to the original. It has recently been revealed what we can expect from the upcoming Mufasa: The Lion King, and reading the premise, fans don’t seem to be too excited about it.
The Premise For The Upcoming Mufasa: The Lion King Is Revealed
Everyone, the young generation or the old, will remember the days of watching The Lion King for the first time in their lives and how much of an impact it had on them. The original 1994 film is considered to be a cultural icon across the globe, something that stood the test of time and reminded everyone of its monumental success with another box-office and critical domination with the 2019 remake.

But the remake wasn’t all that was planned for this icon, as soon after the 2019 film’s success, rumors started to spread of a prequel film that was in the works at Disney, which were later confirmed. And sure enough, we have now got the premise breakdown of the upcoming Mufasa: The Lion King, which gives us an idea of what to expect from it in the future.
More from the ‘MUFASA: THE LION KING’ premise has been revealed:

As is obvious from the title, the film will focus on the sparsely detailed story of Simba’s father from the original film and the 2019 remake when it’s released. It’s also going to be laden with all the unknown titbits and unexplored backstories of major characters from the film’s lore.
Despite this expansion, though, it doesn’t seem like the fandom is all that excited for the film, as they are confused about what to make of it.

What Do The Fans Say About This?
Despite these recent revelations of the upcoming film, fans are calling the project out for being an unnecessary expansive measure by Disney. Since most of what Mufasa had gone through in his life can be inferred from the original film, there isn’t too much they can elaborate on with this movie.

So basically a slightly modified version of the first Lion King, but with brothers and I'm guessing his brothers will be similar to Pumba and Timon too? And gee I wonder who will be the ruler, it's not like this is pointless live action prequel or anything💀
