As the battle goes on, Deku(Izuku Midoriya) is trying to save Shigaraki from the depth of darkness, by changing the villain’s past. However, this is not easy as the secondary antagonist and the perpetrator of the entire battle, All for One has finally made a return to the series, making the job even more difficult for Deku.

Not only that, All for One’s return in My Hero Academia Chapter 418 has confirmed one of the saddest fan theories about the villain Shigaraki Tomura. This theory proves that All for One is the character who gave such horrifying powers to Shigaraki, changing his entire life and making him a villain.

In the last chapter, Deku found himself in the past, seeing the trauma Shigaraki aka Tenko experienced throughout his childhood. Chapter 418 begins with Deku standing in front of Tenko after activating his Quirk for the first time which leads to him killing his dog while his sister Hana approaches him in terror.

In a desperate attempt to prevent the disaster, Deku transforms into a toddler and clutches Tenko’s hands, attempting to persuade Shigaraki that he does not have to be this way and can change for the better. As Shigaraki contemplates this, All for One’s memories begin to surface, indicating that he had a connection with Tenko’s father long before his Quirk surfaced.

Suddenly All for One’s Vestige enters the mental realm of Shigaraki and taunts him for never having any choice of his own. Deku and Shigaraki both began to sink into an infinite abyss, indicating that the might of All For One was far too tremendous for them to overcome. It also indicated that All for One might have taken control over Shigaraki’s body.

My Hero Academia Confirms A Sad Theory About Shigaraki’s Past

Since the beginning of the series, multiple theories about Shigaraki and his horrifying powers have surfaced on the internet. One such fan theory pointed out that maybe Shigaraki got his powers from All for One, and the recent revelations in My Hero Academia chapter 418 have essentially confirmed this theory.

All for One was present in Shigaraki’s life even before he mistakenly slaughtered his own family. According to the chapter, All for One was linked to Shigaraki’s father Kotaro when his son was still a youngster and monitored whether or not Shigaraki had yet to acquire a quirk. Shigaraki’s father disclosed that he hasn’t yet developed his quirk, suggesting that, similar to Deku, he might not have any quirks at all.

When All for One reappeared, the first thing he said was, “Not once in your pitiful life has any choice been your own.” This suggested that All for One may have given Shigaraki his quirk, which caused his family to fall apart and leave him by himself. Later on, All for One adopted him to use him as his vessel for his own purpose.
