There remains no doubt that Elden Ring is one of the greatest video game titles to be released in the past decade. Its different elements, such as the vast map, challenging difficulty, and a unique storyline help give it identity, and the majority of the credit goes to the director of the game, Hidetaka Miyazaki.
Miyazaki is a renowned video game director, recognized for creating many successful video game series with the help of his studio. His works include the Dark Souls series, Demon Souls Series, Bloodborne, and much more. Likewise, there is no doubt that he plays a major role when it comes to Elden Ring’s success, but in a recent interview via Famitsu, he claims otherwise.
Hidetaka Miyazaki Shares The Process Of Making Elden Ring
Hidetaka Miyazaki, in the aforementioned interview, engages in a conversation about the process the director went through when he was curating the experience of the game. Mentioning the same, he shared:
“However, this isn’t everything. My opinion isn’t absolute, and if there is a problem or a better way to do something, the staff gives me their frank opinions and I often agree with those opinions and accept them.”
He talks about how while his ideas about the game are considered to be the prime direction for that particular part, it does not remain fixed. Instead, opinions and better ways are heard properly before something is finalized.
Ultimately, the renowned director disclosed how the above is not only true for Elden Ring but their other works at FromSoftware too. He states how it poses a benefit of creating something together as a team, bringing joy at the same time.
Miyazaki Left Out Parts From The Main Game To Be Included Later In Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC
In the same interview, after being asked about how the developments of the upcoming Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC came to be, Miyazaki revealed how the foundation of the DLC was laid down as soon as the development for the main game was over.
Furthermore, in a more shocking revelation, he revealed how he kept aside some aspects of the main game to be later utilized in DLCs. This essentially means that fans can expect to see many questions that were left unanswered in the main game to be finally solved in the coming DLC.
We also finally know now that the much-anticipated DLC will be released on 21st June 2024. Shadow of the Erdtree will enable the player to travel to the Land of Shadow by touching Miquella’s withered arm present at the Mohgwyn Palace, taking us to the place where Queen Marika first set foot and became a ruler.
Elden Ring is available to purchase on Steam.
