Dwayne Johnson and John Cena are both big names in both Hollywood and WWE. They both started their journey of fame via wrestling and went on to become actors in the DC Universe. They have also worked in the same franchise of Fast and the Furious. The two have had an ongoing rivalry since their days as wrestlers and it continues.
They have faced off against each other and have often openly talked about their dislike of the other. The two are famous for their acting and are rising in the Hollywood industry rapidly. They have often even dissed each other in public. So it was not easy for Johnson to see Cena take up his place in Fast and the Furious 9.

John Cena has given open allegations about how Dwayne Johnson is far from ready to face the wrestler-turned-actor. His fame followed right after Johnson started shifting to Hollywood and that was the perfect time to establish his wrestling career. He has even stated that the actor cares very little about his past career and the business.

They also faced off against each other in 2012 and 2013. They taunt each other and even look forward to facing off against the other in a fight. During interviews, both Johnson and Cena challenged each other and welcomed each other for wrestling matches. They have even deemed the other inferior for even thinking that they could win against them. While referring to their iconic fight, Cena even confirmed as to how genuine it was and how they both just wanted to see the other lose.
As Actors, Dwayne Johnson And John Cena Appreciate Each Other
Although their WWE career saw them as rivals, their acting career did not. There aren’t many benefits one can have for having rivals in the Hollywood industry as compared to WWE. Ever since the two switched careers, they only have respect and appreciation for each other.
“He’s earned the right not to be pressured into that choice. I can say he is a fan of the WWE. He is the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. So as a fan, do I want to see one of the greatest performers of all time step back in the WWE ring? Yeah. But in no way am I gonna call him and if I’m gonna talk to him about something, it’s not gonna try to be to get him back in the WWE ring.”
Both of them are moving on in their careers while still managing to enjoy a sport they love and adored so much. Wrestling and WWE had been a big part of their lives and although they might choose not to come back to the rink, they can always admire their sport and cheer for it.
