Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes keep their family life low-key. They’re one of Hollywood’s most private couples, having kept their life private for 12 years.
Fans are aware of Mendes’ relationship timeline, as she started dating music producer George Augusto in 2002 but broke up in 2011. Shortly after their split, she began dating the Barbie star. However, there are rumors that Mendes may have dated Jason Sudeikis, too.
Eva Mendes’ Alleged Romance Before Ryan Gosling
According to a blog post on LiveJournal, an eyewitness claimed to have seen Eva Mendes and her friend Jason Sudeikis kissing in a car in 2011.
It might be surprising for many to hear that Mendes (who is only known for dating George Augusto) was also reportedly involved with Olivia Wilde‘s ex.
Just a week after saying marriage is “very old-fashioned” in an appearance on Chelsea Lately (via Today), the then 37-year-old actress was seen being very close with Sudeikis, according to HollywoodLife.com‘s exclusive report.
A source close to the situation revealed that both Mendes and Sudeikis attended the 24 Hour Plays benefit at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica in 2011.
There, the Miami native participated in the play alongside Sophia Bush, Minnie Driver, and Cam Gigandet to raise money for Urban Arts. The eyewitness said:
“After the show was over, which was about 10:15 pm, Eva came to the lobby where she met Jason. They gave each other a big hug and then chatted for about 10 minutes. Eva looked really happy, and so did Jason. They walked out hand in hand. Eva then signed a couple of autographs, while Jason patiently waited. Then they both got into Eva’s black car. Jason sat in the driver’s side and Eva in the passenger’s side. They sat in the parking lot and made out for out 10 minutes.”
A second source also told the same story:
“After the play was over, Eva went straight to the lobby to see Jason and that’s when they hugged each other. She was carrying a few bags and a box full of props and a costume for the play. Jason helped her carry the bags and box to her car — a black Lexus SUV. At one point he had his arm around her.”
The first insider added, “They skipped the after party which was held in Santa Monica and went straight to the Sunset Tower Bar where they grabbed a bite to eat. They got there at about 11:45 pm.”
The two were also paired up at the MTV Movie Awards for the opening Hangover spoof. So, the two had a brief fling after Mendes ended her relationship with Augusto. However, neither of them has ever confirmed anything.
Eva Mendes was Disillusioned with Marriages Earlier
In 2011, Eva Mendes appeared disillusioned with long-term relationships. She expressed her disinterest in marriage, saying (via People):
“I don’t wanna have kids … I love the little suckers; they’re so cute. But I love sleep so much, and I worry about everything. I feel like the institution of marriage is a very archaic kinda thing. I don’t think it fits in my world today.”
Despite her past aversion to marriage and long-term commitments due to her breakup with the filmmaker, Ryan Gosling made the Hitch actress believe in love again.
Now, the 50-year-old spends most of her time taking care of her children, Esmeralda Amada, 9, and Amada Lee, 7, away from public attention.
