Jonathan Majors was brought up with two siblings on the Vandenberg military base near Lompoc, CA. His father was in the Air Force. Majors’ mother moved with the kids to her hometown Dallas, TX, after his father left the family. He told The Hollywood Reporter in 2019,
“Our father, who loved us dearly, just kind of disappeared one day . . . and he resurfaced 17 years later.”
The actor met his father many years later during the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement.
2. His mother is a pastor
Majors’ mother had pursued a master’s degree in divinity, in Dallas, TX. She became a pastor and because of her, spirituality is a big part of his life. The actor has shared that the lessons his mother taught him have stuck with him. Majors told Elle in August 2020, that he is not a pastor, he is not a man of the cloth but has his calling.
3. Jonathan Majors’ love for acting
The actor was prone to getting into fights at school, owing to which he was enrolled in an alternative educational program. He shared that there he read Agatha Christie and got interested in acting. Majors added that he has an active imagination and loved acting out scenes from books.

The actor attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), where he pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In 2012, he enrolled in the Yale School of Drama. During the final semester, he received his first prominent role as young Ken Jones on ABC’s show When We Rise.
5. Jonathan Majors has a daughter
In the period, when he was still studying at Yale School of Drama, the Da 5 Bloods actor was blessed with a daughter. His daughter is presently seven years old. The details of her mother are not yet revealed. In an interview with People, Majors shared that his priority is giving his daughter a proper education on Black history. He added,
“She has to understand that it’s actually not ‘Black history’ — it’s American history,” he said. “The way it’s taught now, it’s honestly the Jim Crow system of separate but equal. We’ll give it one month, 12 pages in the history book . . . we’ll talk about Harriet Tubman, Rosa Park, MLK, then we’ll give you a little quiz about it. And that’s it.”
Majors also revealed a conversation with his daughter when she was frustrated with heavy curls. He told her that her hair is her crown and she should embrace it as it came from her family.
Controversies in the Actor’s Life
The actor was arrested by the New York City police department based on allegations against him by a 30-year-old woman. Reportedly, the actor assaulted and harassed her in a taxi on the streets of NYC. Majors’ attorney has disclosed some alleged text messages that show the victim woman has disavowed any allegations against the actor.
