In a recent chat, the Oscar-winning actress spilled the beans on why bulking up for Jane Foster felt kind of gross, and honestly, it makes sense. In a recent chat with Vanity Fair, Portman went back in time, chatting about her career’s big moments.

The Star Wars veteran talked about the challenges of getting all beefed up and shared what it felt like to step into the shoes of a towering 6’3 character. She said,

“It’s pretty amazing, you know. You kind of feel like, Oh, I guess I’ll just get to play petite women my whole life. And then they’re like, No, you’re gonna play a 6’3” character. Then you watch yourself on screen, I’m like, This is what it looks like to be like a big person. This is what it feels like.”

Seeing herself as this towering figure on screen blew her mind. But let’s be real; it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for the Leon star. She spilled the beans on the weirdest part, how much she had to eat. She revealed,

“The most surprising thing was how much you have to eat. Like it was all about like protein shakes all day, which are just so gross after a while. So it was a funny world to get an insight into.”

So, stepping into superhero shoes? Yeah, it was a wild ride, protein shakes and all. And guess what? Chris Hemsworth, our very own Thor, also went through the wringer, getting all jacked up for Love and Thunder.

It turns out that being a superhero is no walk in the park; it’s hard and exhausting.

Hemsworth is waving goodbye to the superhero diet after tackling the intense regimen for Thor: Love and Thunder. Did you see him in the movie? Insane.

Behind the scenes, his dedication was next level, eating every two hours, loading up on calories, and grinding through intense training sessions. The 40-year-old, who’s mastered the art of body transformations, dubbed it a journey.

Yet, this time, the process was a real challenge. Amid the pandemic hurdles, his routine boiled down to training, eating, and more training. The goal? Look bigger and stronger than ever. But it came at a cost: exhaustion. As per Business Insider, Hemsworth confessed,

“It was train, eat, train, eat. Nothing else to do. Then I turned up for the film bigger than I’ve ever been. It was just exhausting. I don’t know, maybe I’m getting old, but things just started to hurt more.”

Further, the actor added,

“This was particularly hard. I think because the target weight we aimed for was quite a ways above where I’d been before.”

While the on-screen results were stunning, he’s relieved to ditch the demanding diet. Hemsworth admitted, “It was a really fun exploration, but I don’t know that I wanna get that big again.” The superhero era might be over, but the behind-the-scenes grind? That’s a story worth telling.
