Doctor Who cleverly changed an iconic scene in its docudrama

In 2013, when the show completed its 50 years, a special docudrama, An Adventure in Space and Time was released. The TV movie focused on the creation of the show in the 1960s.

The show focused on the creation of the iconic show and had the Harry Potter actor David Bradley play the role of William Hartnell, the man who immortalized the first version of the doctor. The conclusion of the 50th-anniversary special had an iconic scene that showed the eleventh and the then-doctor Matt Smith appearing before Hartnell.

The avid fans were not late to realize why Matt Smith’s character looked so weird when he appeared for the first time in the 50th-anniversary special. The makers used a green screen to film that sequence so that the scene could be used for every 10th anniversary. Ncuti Gatwa’s appearance looked more polished as compared to Matt Smith and it also excites as to see how they continue the trend in the 70th year as well.
