Season one of One Piece live-action broke several records and became the best anime adaptation ever. The first season of One Piece live-action was based on the introduction of Strawhats and other antagonists. However, things are going to be patchy for Luffy in season 2, as things are about to get serious, as mentioned by Garp.
The adventure of Monkey D. Luffy has just begun, and he must face several adversities before he can finally become the king of pirates. However, towards the end of season 1, we were shown that Luffy now has a bounty on his head. He will be on the radar of several people who do not want him to achieve his dream.
Luffy’s Upcoming Challenges in One Piece Live-action Season 2
Season 1 of One Piece Live action ended with Strawhats going to Grand Line to continue their nerve-racking adventure. However, this is where we can see how strong Luffy’s determination is towards his goal.
In an interview with Deadline, show creator Matt Owen mentioned :
Season 1 ends with Luffy gaining notoriety. And while it’s something that he wants — he wants to be taken seriously as a pirate in this world — as Nami and Zoro say, this is putting a target on your back. A lot of people are going to know you and know your face. And so that tag at the end is really reinforcing that idea that there are people who now know of Luffy’s existence, and they’re going to try to put a stop to him.
He went ahead and explained further:
That character in the end is a very important character moving into our next season, and as Garp says to [Luffy] as well, you’re on your own. While Garp may have been the Marine who was testing Luffy, not every Marine is going to give him any leeway because of who his grandfather might be. And so we’re going to see this very powerful, very driven marine as a major antagonist moving forward in the story.
It seems Luffy should seriously consider the warning issued by Garp, as there might be people who will not let Luffy go unscratched.
In order to achieve his dream of becoming the King of Pirates, it is necessary for Luffy to scale these challenges, as it will solidify his name in the pirate world.
When will the One Piece Live Action season 2 be released?
Netflix has officially given season 2 a green light; however, there are no updates on the release date of the upcoming sequel.
It took around five years to produce season 1, so it would be better for everyone if they released the second season with the same amount of work.
Fans are always eager to see their favorite characters back on screen, but it is essential to give the production team a reasonable amount of time so that they can give their best. Fans might wait before seeing their favorite Strawhat continue their journey again.
