Fortnite has been a phenomenon for the last five or more years. The Epic Games title has made some of the most insane and incredible collaborations in the history of video games. The game has already made its own spin-offs like LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival, all developed by veteran industry developers.
However, with the latest update, not all fans are happy with the changes made to some mechanics, and for some very good reasons.
Fans are not happy with the new Fortnite Update
A very important and polemic change was added to the new update. It seems that the sprinting speed was reduced by 20%. Players are complaining and saying that the game is not enjoyable anymore. This was not the only change added with the new Chapter 5 update. Weapons mod and another mechanic were introduced as well.
Some players are already looking for different ways to bring back the old sprinting speed. Fortnite’s movement in general was mutating in the latest seasons, with the addition of parkour mechanics and ledge impulse to climb different surfaces. The players are calling this sprint heavy.
Solid Snake was added in the last update as well. The iconic video game character has different skins and emotes that show all of his different looks. Metal Gear Solid characters were introduced too, like Raiden and Mantis.
Reddit has all the fury of the players
Some Reddit users have been posting their frustration in the different Fortnite subreddits. Reddit’s user, TastyScratch4264, said: “that the game is becoming enjoyable, and the stamina takes forever to recharge.” He continued, “Why does Epic keep making the game very slow” Other users agreed and started ranting about this update.
Comments continue, Reddit’s user, Ok_reference5814, said: “They’re trying to make movements seem more realistic? In a game where we carry 2 tons of imaginary lumber, bricks, and steel that is summoned out of thin air. I totally see.”. As evidenced, players are not happy with the latest update.
For the moment, Epic has not addressed this issue. The update not only drops 20% of the sprint speed, but it also takes longer to regenerate the stamina bar.
Within the patch notes are some of the specific changes that Epic Games made to Fortnite. One of the more relevant notes is that ten skins will be added to the item shop besides Snake and Company. There are no specific details about the sprint speed change.
The Fortnite Crew of February was revealed and shown as a girl with violet details. This skin is called Lana Llane, and of course, it has Llama details in her clothes. We have to wait for Epic Games’ response to these demands of the players with sprinting being slow.
