Much had been riding on the Xbox Series X by Microsoft as 2024 saw PlayStation trump its rivals by leaps and bounds as Xbox decided to go multi-platform. This sparked tons of rumors regarding Xbox’s stance on releasing new consoles. But the new leaks suggest that Xbox Series X is well on its way.

The most notable part about the alleged leaked pictures of the consoles is the total absence of the disc tray which had been a mainstay in almost all consoles for the better part of three decades. One fan rightly pointed out how this marks a shift to a disc-less future saying, “Sad that we have moved into a disc-less generation“. Another fan commented, “And just like that. Physical Games = gone“.

Fans took to the comment section of @Dexerto’s post to air their opinions regarding the new model. One fan probably took the crown with their short and apt comment, “That’s my mini fridge“. And this fan was joined by others who critiqued the choice of the shape of the new console.

One fan suggested that the developers should cut the size in half and make it like a cube. Yet another fan felt like the new console was a tank. Some others questioned the authenticity of the post with one saying, “Fake. That’s a prototype dev kit image.

As of now, things seem pretty confusing with another fan claiming to have found the actual leaked image of the Xbox Series X which was refuted pretty soon by a user who identified the image as Project Scorpio. 2024 was supposed to be a big year for Xbox, especially with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, but Helldivers 2 has ensured that Xbox barely survives by virtue of its Game Pass.
