Despite being a Marvel character since the very beginning with his two solo Ghost Rider movies, Nicolas Cage never had the opportunity to reprise his role in the core MCU. However, with the rumor of Cage’s appearance in Secret Wars it seems, the actor might finally stand a chance to be a part of the Avengers. Fun fact: Cage also awaits reportedly for another solo Ghost Rider movie, that’s in development.

MCU Might Feature Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider In Secret Wars

Thus, as the MCU continues to expand its multiverse for the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars, rumors sparked about Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider coming back into play.
Nicolas Cage first played the role of the MCU character, Johnny Blaze in 2007’s Ghost Rider and again in its 2011 sequel, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. However, that was way before the rise of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it exists today. Thus, with Marvel Studios’ steady growth, it appears the rumor might have some weightage.
Despite being an MCU character, as Nicolas Cage never got the opportunity to reprise his role with the other Avengers, fans believe Secret Wars might be a potential chance for the actor. Further, with Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine crossover in Deadpool 3, Cage’s Ghost Rider might appear as a familiar face in Secret Wars.
Nicolas Cage Reportedly Awaits Solo Ghost Rider Movie
Irrespective of the headline-making speculation about Nicolas Cage joining Secret Wars as Ghost Rider, the MCU hasn’t confirmed or denied the rumor. However, amid such nail-biting moments, few fans believe it might be exciting to watch Cage riding his motorcycle from Hell in Avengers: Secret Wars. The best option for Ghost Rider is actually Gabriel Luna’s version.
Witnessing Luna portray Robbie Reyes, the fourth Ghost Rider in season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans lost their minds, and thereafter have been begging for the actor to reprise as Ghost Rider instead of Cage. Well, with zero confirmation from the MCU about Ghost Rider’s appearance, anything seems possible. If Gabriel Luna’s version of Ghost Rider is to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, there still seems another waiting opportunity for Nicolas Cage.
According to further rumors, Marvel Studios was reportedly developing a Ghost Rider solo project, prior to the WGA strike issued an aggregate halt and delay. Amid several other projects in development, even Ghost Rider was secretly being developed by Marvel. As per a Twitter account, the rumor has not yet been confirmed or denied by Marvel. Thus, it is deemed that the Studios will move forward in developing the project.
