In the digital age, fans have unparalleled access to the lives of their favorite celebrities. However, this access can occasionally blur the line between admiration and interfering obsession, resulting in a privacy invasion. Many stars have encountered this situation. One such actor who has earlier expressed his frustration is Asa Butterfield, who first rose to fame for his performance in the historical drama movie The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.

The 26-year-old English actor is perhaps best known for his noteworthy work in Laurie Nunn’s Sex Education, in which he portrayed Otis Milburn, a socially awkward teenager offering s*x advice to his peers. However, when it comes to love, he is excessively awkward and uneasy.

The actor has reportedly dated a few actresses over the years, but he prefers to keep his personal relationships private in real life.

In a GQ interview, Butterfield was asked if he wanted to let fans know about his relationship status, but he gave no indication that he would be disclosing any specifics:

“No, I want to keep them guessing.”

Hugo, Ender’s Game, X+Y, and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children are a few of the movies he starred in during the 2010s that kept him in the spotlight. Did he believe his personality would change if he dated people off-screen? He told GQ:

“Yes. I think everyone changes their personalities when they’re dating someone new. You’re trying to be charming and hopefully trying to impress someone. Everyone puts on a bit of an act and tries a bit harder, especially around the first date. I’ll even put on an American accent! I’m kidding, by the way.”

Since the teen comedy series’ 2019 debut on Netflix, Asa Butterfield has played high schooler Otis Milburn. In contrast to the majority of the other characters on the show who experiment with various sex aspects, Otis has maintained relationships with only women.

When asked by GQ if his character would ever explore queerness on screen, he responded as follows:

“I’ve never had any suggestions or gotten any leads to suggest that he’s disguised any part of him, including his s*xuality.”

The actor, 26, who has received three nominations for the British Independent Film Awards, continued:

Additionally, Butterfield talked about what he has learned about “the spectrum of s*xuality” from the third season of the show.

“Everyone’s interests and preferences are so personal and unique to them. There are so many factors that can play into sexuality. Everyone’s on their respective journey.”
