As we approach the end of the year, we can’t help but look towards the next year and what potential releases one could see. One release, according to an insider, that we won’t see next year is another Resident Evil Remake.
According to insider Dusk Golem, the currently unannounced game from Capcom that has been hinted at for a couple of months will not be Resident Evil remake. This has put many gamers minds at ease, but also raised some more questions for fans of Resident Evil.
Why Is the Unannounced Capcom Game Not Going to Be the Resident Evil Remake?
Over the recent months, there have been a few different pieces of information that have been leaked to the gaming community, mainly by insider, Dusk Golem, regarding the upcoming unannounced title that Capcom is looking to release in 2024.
A majority of the information that has been provided has pointed towards Capcom’s mostly popular franchises receiving new installments. This has had many gamers wondering whether it could be a Resident Evil remake, a Monster Hunter, or even a Dragon’s Dogma game.
These theories were put to rest when Capcom announced Dragon’s Dogma 2 was being released within 2024; however, according to this new rumor, the next Capcom game could be a new Monster Hunter title that players have been asking for. Sadly, this means that Resident Evil remake fans will be left short in 2024.
Even though we have only recently received a new Resident Evil remake, which was Resident Evil 4, fans were hoping Capcom would continue down this path and update all of its classic Resident Evil games for the new generation to enjoy.
This may be the case, but sadly, at least for now, it is unlikely we will be receiving a Resident Evil remake within the next year. However, this could be good news, as Capcom might be focusing its priorities on a completely new Resident Evil game. However, this is highly unlikely and only wishful thinking.
What Does This Mean for Other Leaks Regarding a Resident Evil Remake?
Recently, there have been a few leaks circulating on the internet that have left players excited for a Resident Evil: Veronica remake; however, these leaks are now proven to be incorrect. This has mainly been a 4chan rumor, which has had many gamers eager to see this game’s release.
However, according to Dusk Golem, this rumor is false, and someone is creating rumors to stir up the gaming community. Since this rumor has now been disproved, many in the community are now wondering whether or not Capcom will slow down with the remakes and attempt to focus on the future of the franchise.
This is unlikely, as the remakes have received a lot of positive reactions and have already begun to revitalize the game’s fanbase as new and old gamers begin to purchase these titles and enjoy the classic Resident Evil franchise at its best.
So far, it hasn’t been announced that Capcom will stop creating the Resident Evil remakes, but they have already reached what the fanbase considers the best part of the franchise, as the games leading up to RE7 were rather poor and universally hated gamers. Only time will tell if Capcom is willing to take the chance.
At the moment, the gaming community is still unsure as to what game Capcom has up its sleeve what will be released within the later months of 2024. But thanks to Dusk Golem, we now have a better look at the options that are being provided by Capcom.
