John Cena is one of the most iconic professional wrestlers who has ever stepped foot inside the WWE ring. Being a WWE Hall of Fame star alongside several other veteran wrestlers, Cena has had quite a career in wrestling.
Joining Hollywood in recent years, fans have started noticing the small absence of John Cena from the WWE. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), people talked about how John Cena has been wrestling for almost two decades!
John Cena Has Been In The Ring For Two Decades!
Starting his wrestling career in 1999 and officially joining WWE in 2001, it has been 23 years since John Cena has been part of the wrestling franchise. Rising to stardom with his iconic theme song alongside an iconic storyline for himself, fans loved Cena’s style and his various moves.
Much like Dwayne Johnson, Cena also tried to get into movies in the beginning, but it didn’t work out that well for the actor. Finding bigger and better roles later on, Cena is now a part of Hollywood, and fans are noticing the absence of Cena from WWE. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) fans talked about how Cena has been wrestling for 20 years, and maybe it’s time for his retirement!

With the speculations that the recent WrestleMania was Cena’s last, the wrestler-turned-actor had to clarify in a podcast that he wasn’t in a retiring mood (yet). He did go on to drop some truth bombs, which hurt people’s notion of Cena, but he was right after all.
John Cena Can’t Keep On Doing Wrestling Forever!
Yes, we know. Truth hurts, but that is exactly what John Cena said in a recent podcast. During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, the Peacemaker actor talked about how he is almost 47 now, and there will come a time when he will have to hang up his jorts.
“I’ll change my shirt but you guys know that comes with a uniform change, but last night wasn’t my last night, so this doesn’t mean this is my last uniform. That means that I’ve speculated about when I will hang up the jorts but it wasn’t last night and I still got a little bit of rubber left on the top.”
He further continued,
“I’m actively trying to craft that path now. I put a line in the sand for myself at 50 and I honestly think it’s going to be before that. There is your breaking news. I’ll be 47 in a few weeks. You got about 1000 days.”
Although John Cena might not be able to do this every day, fans hope that the actor will remain a part of WWE and would frequently appear in events and occasional fights. Cena was recently seen in the iconic WWE event WrestleMania XL, and he wreaked havoc!
