Fans troll James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy
The fight between the DC fans and MCU fans have going on for a long time. The new release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, has sifted a new debate between the two fan armies. In a recent twitter post, a user posted a question comparing, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. He wrote,
“Do you think James Gunn is up there with Christopher Nolan as one of the greatest comic book movie directors? #GotGVol3”
Numerous DC world took to the social media platform to troll James Gunn for the $1.64 billion grossing franchise, Guardians of the Galaxy. As per the DC trilogy fans, James Gunn’s project is nowhere near The Dark Knight trilogy. Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy. It is undeniably one of the most successful film franchises in motion picture history.
A DC fan wrote,
“Can’t judge him based on an MCU work. He will have to make Superman a blockbuster to at least be considered against Nolan. DC’s characters are more challenging to work with as they have complex personalities that are difficult to work out on screen.”
Another said,
“I wouldn’t even put Nolan in the top 10 of good comic book movie directors. Raimi, Russo Bros, Reeves, Burton, Proyas, Cronenberg, Travis, Russell, Wright, and Johnston before Nolan any day.”
A user weighed the pros and cons,
“That’s hard to say, do I think Christopher Nolan could direct a GotG film, I am a massive fan of Nolan, but I don’t he could.”
On the other hand, could James Gunn direct the Dark Knight films, yeah, but they wouldn’t be as good. We never of gotten Heath Ledger’s Joker.
No. Nolan has much deeper characterization and his movies are much more culturally significant than Gunn's. And Nolan's ability to create a visually stunning movie without the need of excessive CGI also puts him above Gunn

No.
Don't get me wrong, he's good. But Nolan was able to show Batman's journey from beginning to end without many issues equally well across 3 films while making each feel unique and delving into mature topics. All without completely abandoning the source material.— Batshineman (@Batshineman) May 5, 2023
Nolan is a better overall director, but his movies don’t really capture the essence of a comic book the way James Gunn does. As an overall director, Nolan is better, CBM director, Gunn is better.

Haven’t seen GOTG3 yet. I love those movies but I’m my opinion the Dark Knight trilogy is so much better but then again, for me, it’s one of the best trilogy’s
