As per a post on X by scooper DanielRPK, Sony and Marvel are set to collaborate for a fresh take on the Spiderverse. The speculated merger could introduce several Sony-owned characters in Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man projects including the fourth installment of Tom Holland’s successful franchise.

Marvel has previously confirmed Spider-Man 4 with Holland and the project is currently in the early stages of development. For now, it is hard to predict what storyline the new installment to the franchise would follow as the merger could change the structure and the very tone of the thematic emblem of the franchise. 

Currently, Sonly-owned Marvel characters like Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter getting their solo movies under the banner of Sony Pictures. For Sony, however, it has been a stroke of hard luck to sustain their The Amazing Spider-Man films at the box office, the new merger will pave the way for a leap of faith for both companies.

In a huge crossover in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony-universe Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield made a grand entrance after years and fans loved it. Many argue the fact that it has been one of the biggest cinematic crossovers till now. Sony and Marvel may follow the queue and hope for more collaboration. However, as of writing this piece, there is no official confirmation of the speculation.
