The rumors about Henry Cavill’s appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been making rounds on the internet for some time now. From time to time, we got a wide variety of rumors regarding the ex-Superman’s introduction to the MCU bandwagon, and all of them were insane. Now, the latest rumor speculates Cavill’s casting in the MCU as the variant of the iconic Marvel superhero, Wolverine.
Although most fans would love to take it with a grain of salt until official reports arrive, it will surely drive the theaters mad if proven true. In the past, it was reported that Henry Cavill might be seen donning the suit of Captain Britain or one of the mutants, especially Cyclops. However, the scenario has turned wilder than ever as he is speculated to appear as a variant of Hugh Jackman’s mutant.
Will Henry Cavill join the MCU as a Wolverine variant?
Since Henry Cavill has left both DC and The Witcher, there are a plethora of opportunities open for the actor. The Enola Holmes actor’s appearance in the MCU has been subjected to insane hype in the recent past. Initially, before the release of Loki Season 2, it was also reported that Cavill would appear in the series as Hyperion. However, the Man of Steel star debunked it, and even though Loki 2 was a bonafide hit, Hyperion did not appear.
Recently, when it was rumored on X that the Immortals star might appear as Doctor Doom in the MCU, the trusted scooper, MyTimeToShineHello reported that he was offered something else and he accepted it.

Later, the scooper also said that Cavill’s Marvel character would leave the fans shocked. As if the rumors were not enough to electrify the fans, Geek Tyrant believes that YouTuber GeekHub‘s theory about the Justice League actor playing a Wolverine variant might prove true.
Hugh Jackman is making his much-anticipated comeback in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. As already reported, this film will be an insane multiversal adventure featuring some of the craziest surprises. It is also rumored to feature more variants of Deadpool and Wolverine other than the classic Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman versions that we are familiar with.
What are the chances of Henry Cavill’s appearance as Wolverine?
Even though the rumors about the Mission: Impossible- Fallout star’s Marvel introduction as Wolverine sounds magical, it is not so easy. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, Cavill openly stated that he would love to join the MCU but not do any role that was previously done by somebody else.
“I’m never going to say a Marvel character that is already being played by someone else, because everyone’s doing such an amazing job.”
It presents doubt about Cavill’s appearance as a variant of the Hugh Jackman superhero. In the same interview, the actor also expressed his interest in joining the Kevin Feige cartel as Captain Britain- “I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool modernized version of that”. Interestingly, Cavill would also be the perfect fit for Captain Britain.
Now it would be interesting to see if the British Hunk appears in Deadpool & Wolverine as a Wolverine variant or the variant of any other X-Men. If proven true, Henry Cavill’s MCU appearance might be an insane theater moment. On top of it, it would also be fruitful for both his and the MCU fans. While his Argylle did not work well, the MCU is going through a rough time and all hopes are on Deadpool 3 for the revival of the franchise giant.
