The series brings several popular characters from several media as guest fighters, and with the addition of Omni-Man and Peacemaker in Mortal Kombat 1, more names such as Harley Quinn are also speculated. Alongside these names, Ed Boon has been asked by fans to appear as a guest fighter in the games, but Boon has made it clear that fans shouldn’t expect that to happen.

A modder uploaded a video on YouTube showcasing a mod where they swapped Ed Boon with Scorpion, and he fights against other fighters. The reasoning behind choosing Scorpion may have been that Boon has voiced the fighter several times.

The video was seen by Boon, who did not have a very positive reaction at first according to his reaction on X/Twitter as he said, “Um…yikes.” But he added that it has been a common request from fans to appear in the game as a fighter, but it is “not gonna happen.”

He did not reveal any reasons why he would not be coming to the game as a fighter, but one can understand if he doesn’t want to get beat up and killed by players. He also seemed to get a good laugh out of the mod and said, “These mods krack me up.”

Players Can See Ed Boon in Action With the Latest Mod

Several fans said that they would like to see him in the game and added that they would pay for a Boon skin, but it doesn’t seem to be happening. Players also appreciated Boon for recognizing and not banning or copyrighting mods for Mortal Kombat, unlike other studios that bring lawsuits against modders.

The mod has been created by BeyonderZ and swaps out Boon with Scorpion, bringing him to the game. While there is no animation on his face, the mod still looks good. Boon’s skin also adapts to Scorpion’s moves easily as he goes against Sub-Zero, using his spear and brutal kicks to knock him down.

The skin mod is currently not available and is locked behind BeyonderZ’s Patreon, but it will be available for fans to download on May 1. According to the user’s mods profile, they have made several mods that are amazing, and seeing from the video, the latest Ed Boon mod seems good.
