The actor started rising to prominence when he came the part Vin Diesel’s action-adventure film series Fast & Furious. But there was also a time when the Red Notice actor wanted to play the character of the famous spy James Bond.

Dwayne Johnson’s grandfather played the role of a villain in the James Bond movie

During an interview, Dwayne Johnson expressed his desire to become the next James Bond in the Bond series. While talking about the action spy series, the Baywatch actor mentioned that his grandfather played the role of a villain in the 1967 action thriller movie. Johnson’s grandfather Peter Maivia was the bad guy in Sean Connery’s You Only Live Twice. The 51-year-old actor also wishes to be a part of the spy series but he wants to play the protagonist in the movie. While expressing his desire to become the next Bond, the Fast Five actor said,

“Yes, my grandfather was a Bond villain… with Sean Connery. Very, very cool and I would like to follow in his next footsteps and be the next Bond. I don’t want to be a villain. You gotta be Bond.”

Daniel Craig who played the famous spy in 5 installments from the film series has decided to give up on his Bond character. The makers of the film series are looking for another actor to play the role of the smart and handsome spy. Henry Cavill was also on the list of potential actors to play the spy character, but unfortunately, the makers aren’t going ahead with The Witcher actor.

James Bond makers think Henry Cavill is too old to play the spy in the upcoming movies

Every Cavill supporter had a surge of enthusiasm when reports surfaced that the 40-year-old actor might be the next James Bond. The Man of Steel actor could have been the ideal choice to play the spy because he has incredible looks and excellent acting abilities, but the makers weren’t sold on the guy. Reportedly the makers thought that the Justice League actor was too old to portray the character of the famous spy in the upcoming movies.

Many online commenters claimed that the British actor, who played Sherlock Holmes in the film Enola Holmes, may have been the one to elevate the Bond series. Netizens also requested the makers to cast the Immortals actor as their protagonist in the spy thriller movie.
