With a month away from hitting the big screens, the hype surrounding the highly anticipated Dune sequel is over the moon, especially considering the quality of the second half of Herbert’s novel. And among the various new names that have joined forces with Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya for the Denis Villeneuve-led sequel, Florence Pugh and Austin Butler have caused the most buzz.
And to Chalamet, his favorite thing about the upcoming sequel involves the character Butler is portraying in Dune: Part Two, as the Wonka Star couldn’t stop gushing about his costar.
Timothée Chalamet Had No Hesitancy in Deeming Austin Butler His Favorite
Austin Butler and Timothée Chalamet have gotten along pretty well during their tenure in Dune: Part Two, and their chemistry in a recent interview is a treat to watch. With deep respect for one another, Chalamet made the Oscar-nominated actor blush after showering Butler with laudation, both as a person and performer. And the Wonka Star had no hesitancy calling Butler his favorite thing in the sequel, in which the Elvis Star plays the eye-brow-less bald villain Feyd-Rautha.
Speaking of his experience with Butler with the Access Hollywood, Chalamet said:
“You meet someone by destiny, by the destiny of the script that you know you will have to work with intimately. You go, ‘Okay, so he’s not only a great talent, but a great guy, which is hard to find… I think… he’s my favorite character in the movie.”
The Masters of the Air Star too didn’t back down from commending his costar, as he stressed that Chalamet “knocked it out of the park,” as Butler expressed it’s cool seeing Paul grow as a character.
Austin Butler Urges Timothée Chalamet to Ignore One Thing for His Next Big Project
Moving aside from their experience in the highly anticipated sequel, Austin Butler shared notable advice for Timothée Chalamet‘s next big project, the biopic of Bob Dylan. Considering the Golden Globe priorly played the late music icon Elvis to perfection, Butler advised the Wonka Star to ignore one thing while playing Dylan, often considered one of the greatest songwriters ever.
Recalling his experience playing Elvis, the actor recalled that he initially tried too hard to replicate the look before he realized it was about matching the soul.
“I had this unrealistic expectation that I could make my face his face,” Butler said. “And then, when I finally relieved myself from that and realized, once you do all the work and you get it as close as you possibly can, with all the intricacies of what makes a person who they are, then at the end of the day it’s your soul and their soul coming together.”
While fans are certain that Timothée Chalamet will too play the music icon to perfection like Austin Butler, as of now, fans are excited to see what Butler will bring to the table as Feyd-Rautha.
Dune: Part Two will hit theatres on 15 March 2024.
