Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel has proven her power and strength ever since her solo debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019 and in her reprisal in Avengers: Endgame. Now, the actress recently returned to the big screen with her latest project The Marvels with Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris.
As a superhero who possesses cosmic powers, it would be difficult to find someone who can take her down easily. The Avengers have fought aliens and such, but could they win against Captain Marvel? Probably the one who has the same level of cosmic energy.
The Only Avenger That Can Bring Down Captain Marvel Is Scarlet Witch
Many believe Chris Hemsworth’s Thor of Asgard can give fans a good fight with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel. Certainly, their duel would look spectacular, and it would take a long time before either of them would go down. Thor has proven time and time again that he can go toe-to-toe with any of the villains in the MCU, even the Mad Titan would have to sweat a lot before he could bring down the God of Thunder.
Surely, Thor can take any punch thrown by Captain Marvel, but the celestial heroine has enough cosmic energy to rip him apart. Only someone who shares the same level of strength could tackle her down, and that is Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch.
Fans have already seen what they thought was the extent of Wanda Maximoff’s power in all of her appearances in the MCU. Facing Thanos alone, holding him off while destroying an Infinity Stone, was such an unbelievable scene that only proved Scarlet Witch is the greatest ally one can have. Little did fans know, she has more to offer in WandaVision.
The mutant’s power seems limitless at this point because she can alter or create her own reality, and she can also destroy an entire village in a second. Captain Marvel going up against her is probably not the wisest decision.
Wanda’s Chaos Magic and reality-warping abilities can easily kill Thanos more than Danvers’ strong punches. She does not even need to break a sweat to control things around her, while Captain Marvel has to go higher, further, faster before she can land her attacks.
MCU Has Barely Scratched The Surface Of Captain Marvel’s Range
With all that said, Captain Marvel is a source of immense powers. In her previous MCU appearances, she was only given a limited time to display her capabilities, but in The Marvels, Larson had more physical training. She previously told EW:
“What’s different with this movie from the first one is that Carol didn’t fly until the end, so I didn’t have as much wire work stuff.”
Carol Danvers is fully embracing her powers in the latest film. MCU has barely scratched the surface of Captain Marvel’s range that was present in the comics, such as the ability to fly, possess massive physical strength, project energy blasts, travel astronomical distances, and even withstand the effect of the Power Stone.
Many Marvel characters have comparable strengths similar to Captain Marvel, though it is safe to say that Scarlet Witch has more advantages because of her boundless magical powers and telekinetic abilities.
