On Naruto’s path to becoming Hokage, he encountered numerous challenges. Alongside his fellow ninjas, he confronted various villains. Some of them were well-crafted and memorable, while others fell short and lacked forte.

And to conclude the main Naruto series, the final adversary unexpectedly turned out to be Kaguya Otsutsuki, not Madara or Tobi as many had anticipated. Kaguya was undoubtedly powerful but lacked depth as a character. Her sudden introduction to replace Madara Uchiha disappointed many fans.

Kaguya’s role primarily involved being a formidable opponent for Team 7 and concluding the Fourth Great Ninja War. However, her character left fans unsatisfied due to her sudden arrival and lack of development. But, in the Boruto series, there’s a villain with petty motivation which makes Kaguya seem better than him.

Kaguya’s Impact on Boruto’s Disappointing Villain

Fans often viewed Kaguya Otsutsuki as an unnecessary addition to Naruto’s conclusion. However, her presence in the story highlights the shortcomings of Boruto’s disappointing villain, Code. Code is generally considered a lackluster antagonist in Boruto, and his actions are even less impressive when connected to Naruto’s final villain, Kaguya.

In Boruto chapter #72, Code creates his own version of Obito’s White Zetsu army by breaking off smaller pieces of Kara’s version of the Ten-Tails. Notably, Kaguya was the original Ten-Tails in Naruto. Code’s actions can be seen as a symbolic representation of something deeper than just assembling an army for the invasion of Konoha, as later seen in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.

Boruto has clarified that Kaguya didn’t arrive on Earth alone, contrary to the initial assumption when she was introduced in Naruto. She was accompanied by her fellow Otsutsuki and Boruto’s antagonist, Isshiki, as Otsutsuki typically operates in pairs: one sacrifices themselves to a Ten-Tails to make the Chakra Tree blossom, and the other consumes the resulting Chakra Fruit to gain ultimate godlike power.

However, Kaguya betrayed Isshiki and left him for dead, leading him to inhabit the body of a man named Jigen. This connection to Isshiki is relevant to Code because Boruto has established that Code greatly reveres and respects Isshiki to the point of desiring to become Isshiki’s new vessel. Code’s hatred for Kawaki arises from the fact that Isshiki chose Kawaki as his vessel over Code.

Code’s Petty Grudge Against Kaguya

While it’s never explicitly stated in Boruto that Code holds a grudge against Kaguya. It’s reasonable to assume that he may be aware of her betrayal of his “god” (Isshiki) and hold on to some bitterness towards her.

In Naruto, Kaguya integrated with the God Tree to absorb chakra from her sons, ultimately becoming the Ten-Tails. Although Kara’s Ten-Tails is a distinct entity and not Kaguya herself. Code may symbolically view it as a way to exact revenge on Kaguya in his mind when he damages Kara’s Ten-Tails. Code might derive some satisfaction from this act, given Kaguya’s betrayal of his savior.

It’s important to note that while this assumption about Code’s motives isn’t explicitly confirmed in Boruto, Code’s character has been portrayed as petty and mischievous in the series because of his sh**ty motivation.

Many fans perceive Code as a lackluster villain with a weak personality who often faces humiliation, as seen in the BorutoTwo Blue Vortex arc. Therefore, this idea of Code seeking petty revenge against Naruto’s divisive villain Kaguya would align with his character and could make him even more of a comically ineffective antagonist.
